Today I’m delighted to welcome Jo and Nick onto the Blog for today’s DIY Tutorial, Jo and Nick are one of my Boho couples and have been writing about their wedding panning adventure in the Bridal diary’s. Today They are going to be showing us one of the DIY projects they have started for their wedding; Chalkboard Martini Glasses.

We love a cocktail or two and have many happy memories of dates spent in cocktail bars trying out the latest creations so it was inevitable that cocktails would have a special place in our wedding.
We were looking for a way to combine our ‘shabby chic’ style with our favourite tipples and came across this fabulous idea of chalkboard martini glasses. Here is how we will be spending the next few weeks making around 80 of them!….
STEP 1) We wiped down the glasses to make sure they were free from moisture which makes the masking tape easier to stick on. Wrap tape around the stem of the glass at the desired height.
STEP 2) Paint the bottom of the glass with blackboard paint. You will need to do 3 or 4 coats to make sure that it’s covered evenly and you can’t see through anywhere! Each coat will take an hour or so to dry fully.
STEP 3) Once dry and you are happy with the finish carefully peel of the masking tape.
STEP 4) Decorate your martini glass however you fancy! We are using ours as the place settings and so will be writing the guests names in chalk on the base of the glasses. Our tables are also going to be named after our favourite cocktails and so we will be using cocktail flavour jelly beans to fill them and add some colour to the tables!
